MEET JAY CHOU, MEET THE KING OF POP

Welcome to the blog of Tang Yita !!                           Welcome to the blog of Tang Yita !!

I've  always been a teenager who loves music very much.(of course, there are exceptions...) But when I first heard Jay Chou's song, that was the knockout blow which convinced me to listen more on his music. And what a Pandora's Box of music that led me to! Reading about Jay's history and his humble beginnings in the Mandopop industry fascinated me and it was not long before I was trawling HMV and Gramophone for his albums and concert DVDs. I had to make out a list of his discography to go shopping with, as I was not really that fluent in Mandarin then. Slowly but surely, my collection grew as I also acquired those which were not available in the stores from YesAsia, the online site for Asian music. As the albums accumulated, I of course was having a great time listening to his songs, but in no particular order as it all depended on what I had managed to get. I would rip the songs into my laptop to burn into separate CDs (which were then played in the car) and also downloaded into my little Walkman to listen to whenever I had spare time eg during lunchtime or whilst running. Why did I have to burn separate CDs? Well...it was to keep the originals in pristine condition, naturally....CDs may sometimes get stuck in the car CD player...right?? ;) The most important thing about Jay's music is precisely that....the MUSIC. The melodies, chords, background accompaniments and overall feel of the songs. Not the lyrics so even if you cannot make out what he's singing, it's okay. Just enjoy the music! Jay is known for his relaxed enunciation whilst singing although I'd have to say that I did not really notice that he was not singing that clearly. Being a novice Mandopop listener, it was enough for me that I was even listening to the music, let alone bother about the words! Perhaps having musical training on my part was also why his music made an impression on me as I was also getting hold of whatever piano score books of his songs which I could find and playing them ad nauseum.

Concert Review

Award Entertainment is proud to announce that Jay Chou, the King of Mandopop, will be returning to Sydney for the final stop of his Opus World Tour, holding a concert for the love of his fans.

Jay Chou came to Sydney on a whim in 2009 to perform in a one off concert, still managing to become the number one box office record holder for Allphones Arena, and has stayed in this position ever since. In that concert he broke 11 records in Australia including largest audience (15200), highest total sponsored amount and highest production cost ($480 000).

In the same year the box office for his 2009 Concert in Sydney reached an astronomical amount of $2.6 million USD out-grossing Beyonce and The Eagles placing him at rank 2 worldwide.

"I want the audience to feel like every time they blink their eyes, they are missing something" said Jay Chou. This concert is set to be much bigger and better than the last time he came to Sydney and is expected to break worldwide box office records.

Jay Chou is the number one singer in all of Asia. He has a total of 12 albums selling over 41.5 million copies worldwide, has held over 100 concerts worldwide with an audience count of over 7 million, 15 times winner of the Golden Melody Awards, the only Asian male singer to appear on the cover of the Times Magazine and to top it off he is recognised by CNN as one of the top 20 most influential people in Asia.

His 2014 concert will contain some of the biggest and most technologically advanced special effects in the world including 4D special effects and 3D animation will be sure to WOW you!!
